We engineer every wheel from scratch (rim, hub, spoke count, lacing pattern, and tension chosen for the specific rider). Factory wheels use a single tension profile for an average rider, which is why they go out of true faster and feel dead. A Nir Wheel holds tension longer, transfers power more efficiently, and lasts years longer.

Bike Improve hand-builds every Nir Wheels custom wheelset at our shop on Santa Monica Blvd. in West LA. About a third of our orders ship outside California. Spec your build online or by phone, we build it in our West LA workshop, and we ship direct. The two-year warranty applies nationwide.
Can your bike shop rebuild my Fox or RockShox shock in-house?
Yes. Bike Improve is the only bike shop in Los Angeles that services Fox and RockShox forks and rear shocks in-house, with seal kits, damper rebuilds, and air-can service. Most LA shops send this out to third-party rebuilders, which adds two to four weeks. We turn most jobs around in days. Pricing runs $60 to $200, depending on service level.
